A little history of psychometric personality tests – measuring personality dates back to the early Greeks but it is only very recently that psychologists and management theorists have agreed on what can be measured and it’s effect in the workplace. There are many psychometric and personality tests available in the marketplace and it can be difficult to make a decision as to which one to use. Psychometric Personality tests – Facet 5
At Self Leadership International we use and recommend a ‘Big 5’ psychometric (personality) test known as Facet5. Facet5 measures the five personality factors precisely and quickly to give the most accurate and easily applied portrait of individual differences in behaviour. Facet5 also allows a detailed breakdown of these five factors into 13 sub-factors (facets) to explore subtleties of behaviour at an individual level.
The 5 factors (UK labels) are Will, Control, Affection, Energy and Emotionality. There are 13 sub factors and these are Determination, Confrontation, Independence, Discipline, Responsibility, Altruism, Support, Trust, Enthusiasm, Sociability, Adaptability, Anxiety and Apprehension.
